WP1 – Launching Conference for Europe ReDefined (Online)
The project begins with the official launch event held online, which establishes the overall management, coordination, communication, monitoring, and quality assurance framework for the consortium.
WP2 – Seminar-Lab Circle I: AI & Identity on Citizens' Knowledge (Greece)
The FUTURENTITY Seminar-Lab Circle I took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, as part of the project’s first thematic pillar, “Digital Identity & Belonging.” Under the theme “AI & Identity on Citizens’ Knowledge,” the Seminar-Lab combined introductory learning with participatory and creative activities. Participants reflected on the question “What Does It Mean to Belong in Europe?” and discussed how digital technologies are changing the way people communicate, express their identity, access information, and participate in their communities.
Through civic input activities, collaborative mapping, personal storytelling, small-group dialogue, creative exercises, and the Citizen Voice Roundtable, participants shared experiences and perspectives on AI, inclusion, identity, and European belonging. The creative session “The Europe We Belong To” allowed participants to express their visions of a future Europe shaped by artificial intelligence while keeping citizens, rights, diversity, and human connection at its centre.
The discussions also provided an opportunity to identify challenges related to digital inclusion and to reflect on how technology can support, rather than limit, meaningful civic participation. The experiences, testimonies, ideas, and citizen perspectives gathered during WP2 will contribute to the wider FUTURENTITY process, supporting its ambition to strengthen human-centred, rights-based, and participatory digital citizenship across Europe.
WP3 – Debate Circle I: Democratic Futures in the Age of AI (Netherlands)
Citizens debate transparency, accountability, democratic participation, and the impact of AI on democratic institutions and fundamental rights.
WP4 – Consultation Circle I: Sharing Practices for Inclusive Digital Citizenship (Romania)
Stakeholders exchange good practices and develop citizen-driven recommendations for more inclusive digital participation and governance.
WP5 – Debate Circle I – Democratic Futures in the Age of AI (Finland)
Citizens collaboratively imagine future scenarios for European digital society through participatory learning, creativity, and intercultural dialogue.
WP6 – Debate Circle II – Connected or Controlled Participation in the Algorithmic Union (Slovenia)
Participants discuss emerging democratic challenges related to artificial intelligence, digital participation, and civic engagement while strengthening critical thinking.
WP7 – Consultation Circle II: Citizen Co-Creation for European Digital Policies (Online)
A transnational online consultation gathers citizens from across Europe to refine policy proposals, exchange experiences, and strengthen collective recommendations.
WP8 – Seminar-Lab Circle III: Digital Identity and Civic Belonging in a Connected Europe (Denmark)
The third seminar cycle deepens discussions on European identity, social cohesion, inclusion, and digital belonging in increasingly connected societies.
WP9 – Debate Circle III: Rights, Representation and Responsibility in the Digital Sphere (France)
Citizens examine digital rights, representation, ethical AI, accountability, and democratic responsibility in the digital public sphere.
WP10 – Consultation Circle III: Safeguarding Digital Rights and Fighting Digital Exclusion in EU Governance (Italy)
The final consultation transforms citizens’ experiences into practical recommendations supporting inclusive digital governance and stronger protection of digital rights.
WP11 - FUTURENTITY Digital Townhall on a Campaigning Forum for Building the Digital Citizens' Neighbourhood (Greece)
The Digital Townhall brings together citizens, civil society organisations, public authorities, and digital experts in an interactive European forum dedicated to strengthening digital communities. Through collaborative discussions, campaign activities, and citizen-led dialogue, participants explore how neighbourhood-level initiatives can promote digital inclusion, democratic participation, and a stronger sense of European digital citizenship. The event also serves as a platform to present project achievements, exchange experiences, and inspire future civic engagement across Europe.
WP12 - Closing Citizens’ Assembly-formatted Council – Integration by Designing the Europe We Code Together (Romania)
The project concludes with a Citizens’ Assembly that gathers participants from all partner countries to reflect on the project’s outcomes and collectively shape recommendations for Europe’s digital future. Using an assembly-style participatory format, citizens, policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders co-design visions for a human-centred digital Europe, consolidate the project’s policy recommendations, and celebrate the collaborative journey towards more inclusive, democratic, and rights-based digital citizenship. This final event ensures that citizens’ voices become part of the ongoing conversation on Europe’s digital transformation.
